Feature Friday - Kris Hanahan

Kris Hanahan is known for her level head and positive attitude. As a problem solver and someone who brings the temperature down in a stressful situation, she's a natural fit for real estate! Keep reading to hear her story about how she got into real estate, her unique perspective, and the hobbies that make it all worth it!

Q: How did you get into real estate?

"My buddy, Greg Copenhaver. It is all his fault. He approached me and thought this would be a good fit. I thought he was crazy. Here I am almost 13 years later! I consider Greg my mentor - a large part of the way that I run my business is a direct reflection of what I learned from him. This office is full of people that helped me along the way as well. I feel like I “grew up” here as a professional at RE/MAX Centre Realty. This profession is full of adversities, obstacles and challenges - it is dynamic and stressful and comes with a large amount of responsibility. My husband and kids have been the biggest support through the emotional ups and downs that come with this business."

Q: What makes you unique as a Realtor? How do you get most of your business?

"I have a wealth of knowledge about the residential real estate market and the process of buying and selling a home or residential investment property. I continue to educate myself in all areas of this profession. I have a good working relationship with other Realtors throughout the area which I have developed over years of serving our local Realtor association (CCAR) on committees and the Board, and as President. I also feel that all the knowledge in the world will not make a difference unless you can understand that the sale or purchase of a home is not just about the paperwork. There are people on both sides of that contract that are going through a transition in their lives and need to know that they have someone in their corner that sees and can consider their unique situation. My clients appreciate that I know what I am doing professionally, but they refer others to me because they know that I care about them and take the time needed to make sure that they understand what is happening throughout the process."

Q: Do you have any hobbies or are you involved in any philanthropy?

"Children’s Miracle Network is close to my heart, of course! I am theater nerd - at this time I am involved with fundraising for FUSE Productions, a local, semi-professional theater company with an emphasis on education. I am a supporter of high school and middle school drama departments and community theater groups. I also love to help women entrepreneurs and have participated in many presentations, meetings, (and cups of coffee!) to share information and encourage women to explore the possibilities of turning their interests or ideas into a business, or to take their business to the next level. I am Italian, so I  love feeding people - especially out on our deck when the weather is nice! We fill our house as much as possible with family and friends."

During her time with RE/MAX Centre Realty, Kris has received the following recognition:

RE/MAX 100% Club
